Ingredients

Method

  1. Apply a medium coat of Slap Yo Daddy (SYD) rub.
  2. Smoke @ 275 degrees for 3 hours (this forms the bark).
  3. Foil with Apple Juice.
  4. Drizzle with Agave Nectar.
  5. Cover with a light coat of Brown Sugar.
  6. Return the foiled ribs to the Smoker.
  7. Check for doneness after another hour.
  8. Brush on your favorite BBQ sauce.
  9. Char on Grill for 5 minutes.
  10. Cut into bones and enjoy.
Rib cooking temps: 275 degrees renders fat better/faster and bark forms better. For contests, trim ribs to 9-10 bones so edges don't burn. Spray with favorite liquid every 15 minutes after bark forms (2-3 hours in). Variations: try 5-spice powder with dark soy sauce for Chinese style spareribs; try red roast pork Char-Siew powder; for teriyaki use Yoshida sauce; for heat use Rooster brand hot sauce (Sriracha).

Notes

Nothing yet. If you have cooked this — what you changed, what went wrong, what your mother did differently — it is worth more here than anywhere else.
