Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp
jeffraben.com/recipes · No. 136
Another Hawaiian classic, and one of the easiest and most flavorful you'll make.
Ingredients
Method
- Dry shrimp well, put into a large with the cornstarch, paprika, red pepper flakes, cayenne and salt - toss really well to cost - set aside 10 minutes
- Add a couple tablespoons of oil to a large skillet over medium high heat, and when hot add the shrimp in a single layer - cook about 2 minutes on each side until just cooked and looking a bit crisp, remove and repeat with remaining shrimp then set aside
- Use the same pan, turn down to medium, add the butter and when melted add the garlic - cook about 3 minutes to infuse the garlic into the butter - you don't want the garlic browning
- Add the shrimp back into the pan, mixing well to coat, then cook about a minute
- Serve plated with rice, being sure to add some garlic butter and green onions to the top of the rice
